Recently I was told that later in 1935 the Graf Zeppelin did in fact have swastikas on both sides of the ship with the no border. There are just a few photographs showing the ship in this configuration. This was following a change in the law in September 1935 banning the tricolour flag, after an incident in July 1935 when communist protestors tore down the ship Bremen's Nazi flag, and the US authorities claimed no German symbol was harmed. Nazi's that's who. I probably saw pictures of the starboard side, but without looking at it at all just assumed it was the Hindenburg. To think I spent over an hour and a half grinding off those stupid ribs alone. Oh well I'll fix the error one day. Thanks for the information.
-Warren Zoellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12662160471738573334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-554301473766836128.post-21045208602700957312016-10-22T17:26:54.988-06:002016-10-22T17:26:54.988-06:00Great build, it's a shame the model wasn't...Great build, it's a shame the model wasn't designed very accurately by the manufacturer and a lot of the parts are way off.

They don't even put the registry number and stuff right on the box (the ship never had D-LZ127 on the tail fins). The registry should sit between the top and center engine cars on each side. Also, the Graf never carried fully red swastikas on both sides. From 1933-1935 it was swastikas on the port side and black-white-red German flag on the starboard side. In 1936 the swastikas were on both sides but were bordered with silver as they were on the Hindenburg (plus the Olympic rings were added).Frank Linhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12301998512065990063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-554301473766836128.post-86250652870872422342016-10-01T21:24:03.596-06:002016-10-01T21:24:03.596-06:00https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeppelin_NThttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeppelin_NT-Warren Zoellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12662160471738573334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-554301473766836128.post-52316440037714057232016-10-01T20:13:45.702-06:002016-10-01T20:13:45.702-06:00No i did not....would you want to use that name?No i did not....would you want to use that name?Motorsport Modellerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14222255699324349785noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-554301473766836128.post-48751012766191628862016-09-30T20:36:49.798-06:002016-09-30T20:36:49.798-06:00Did you know the Zeppelin company is back in busin...Did you know the Zeppelin company is back in business?
-Warren Zoellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12662160471738573334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-554301473766836128.post-87008170912203354952016-09-30T20:12:08.287-06:002016-09-30T20:12:08.287-06:00They were impressive machines, shame the incident ...They were impressive machines, shame the incident happened with the Hindenburg.
