Here are some images of my kitbash of a Jedi TIE Fighter. Yep "Jedi TIE Fighter". Concocted it myself. Not being a Star Wars aficionado I couldn't come up with a story line for it so if you can come up with one I would like to hear it.
The parts used to build this model were parts from AMT's Jedi Starfighter and TIE Fighter. The side gun was built using parts from my spares box. Plus the nose from a Bristol Beaufighter.
Cutting the wings off the Jedi Starfighter was an experience I can tell you.
Nice one, how about... After years of galactic warfare all the raw materials to construct the ships and weapons are exhausted. the only materials left are the war relics that are floating through space. A new era had began, who will scavenge the best left overs and construct the best weapons to win the battle...
ReplyDeleteThat's a good one Ludo! It covers all bases and leaves the door open to much story telling speculation.
ReplyDeleteMan, I love your kitbashes.
ReplyDeleteDemanding nerd that I am, I'd like to see more process photos. You don't have to get all extensive like Studio Cyberlab or like Fichtenfoo, but I'd love to see how you work.
wicked kit-bash, How do you complete all these great kits so fast man?
ReplyDeletetotally creative Warren!
ReplyDeletevery nice...
Thanks Arkonbey - Hopefully in a couple of months I will be starting work on the HMS Surprise and I will be doing progress reports as I build the model.

Thanks Kriz - Although this model may have seemed to be built quickly it actually took about 45 hours to put together.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat - It is amazing what one comes up with when one doesn't have cash at the moment when to by some new kits. What I have been doing for the past couple of weeks is take old sci fi kits that were built back in the 90's . Models where the decals have yellowed with age and where the paint jobs weren't entirely accurate (back then accurate info wasn't easy to come by at times so it was a lot of guess work) and bash them into entirely new and different ships. As these kits are being released again now they will be easy to replace.
ReplyDeleteI Like the Beaufighter nose. Neat idea.

Thanks Dave - A TIE Beaufighter. Jedi edition.
