Grumman F8F-1 Bearcat Re Post
Here are some images of Trumpeters 1/32 scale Grumman F8F-1 Bearcat. Being this was Grumman's last piston fighter aircraft it was meant to be the replacement for the F6F Hellcat. Though this aircraft was to late to see combat in World War Two some units did receive the first production examples. The Bearcat affectionately referred to by its units as "The Bear" was based heavily off a captured Focke Wulf FW 190 though no parts were copied. This is a beautiful model kit although it has one major error. The landing struts push against the tops of the main wheels. How a model company can make a blunder like that is beyond me however I understand there are after market replacement parts for this and I intend on getting them just as soon as I am able.
