Zundapp 750 Re Post

Here are some images of Aurora/ESCI's 1/9 scale Zundapp KS-750 motorcycle with BMW sidecar. The Zundapp was the most advanced motorcycle of its day. The Zundapp was a very rugged and versatile motorcycle. The shaft drive setup that was powered by a 751cc engine proved to be very dependable with good acceleration with an overdrive giving it a top speed of 60 mph. Along with the BMW 750 the Zundapps rugged reliability was to make it a common sight on all fronts during the war. One of the things that made the Zundapp unique was it's winterizing gear. This was a heating system for the hands and toes which drew heat from the exhaust system which I'm sure was greatly appreciated by its riders especially on the Russian front.

I occasionally fantasize about going down the freeway on one of these. A few rounds from the MG-34 would probably do a good job of convincing people not to cut me off.

Have you ever seen the movie "Tobruk"? There's a scene were "headhunters" in sidecars pass the convoy of half-tracks, and ever since I saw that scene, armed German sidecars have had a kind of sinister menace for me.

Excellent model, by the way - it's difficult for me to distinguish it from the real thing.

Thanks William - No I haven't seen that movie but it sounds damn interesting so I will take a look real soon.

Thanks Pablo - A motorcycle with a machine gun. What's not to like.

I quite like the weathering on this model.... Especially around the engine and tires.

William.....With that MG-34 you would be the biker from hell.

Thanks Dave - I wonder if the 1/9 scale BMW R75 with side car will ever be re released. It's the only one I need to complete the set.
