Dagger

Here are some images plus a composite of Monogram's 1/48 scale Convair F-102 Delta Dagger. The Dagger was specifically designed for defense of the continental U.S. The YF 102 first flew in October of 1952 but proved to have disappointing performance. After the airframe was redesigned with Whitcomb area ruling to reduce drag. This change improved performance to such a degree that it became feasible for the production of the Dagger.

Blitz

Here are some images of Monogram's 1/48 scale Arado Ar 234-C Blitz (Lightning). The Blitz was the worlds first jet bomber and was first flown in June of 1943. The Blitz had a speed of 461 mph, faster then most fighters of the time, and an operational ceiling of almost 33,000 feet. The 234-Cs had 4 engines, a pressurized cabin, an ejection seat and it could carry a bomb load of 2,000 kg.

Ariane 5

Here are some images plus a composite of Dragon models 1/96 scale Ariane 5 Rocket. With a first semi successful launch on October 30th 1997, 10 years in the making and a cost of around $7billion to develop the Ariane 5 is a disposable launch system designed to carry satellites and cargo into geostationary orbit and is under authority of the European Space Agency ESA.

Kriegslokomotiven

Here are some images plus a composite of Trumpeter's 1/35 scale Kriegslokomotive BR52. From Wiki "Kriegslokomotiven were German 'war locomotives', produced in large numbers during the Second World War, whose construction was tailored to the economic circumstances of wartime Germany, such as shortages of materials, goods transportation (in support of military logistics), ease of maintenance under difficult conditions, resistance to extreme weather, limited life and rapid, cheap, mass production. In order to meet these requirements, economic drawbacks such as relatively high fuel consumption had to be reckoned with".

Gondola

Here are some images of Dragon models 1/35 scale German Railway Gondola Type OMMR. I don't know what else I can tell you, it's an open rail car. I did put a couple of Goliath tracked mine vehicles and extra sand bags in it. And uh... well... Oh! I did use RLM 66 grey as its main colour.

Natter

Here are some images plus a composite of Dragon models 1/48 scale Bachem Ba 349 Natter (Viper). If there ever was a prime example of a desperation weapon the Natter was it. Born out of necessity in 1944 in response to the ever increasing daylight bombing attacks by the U.S. 8th Air Force the disposable mostly wood Natter was designed to intercept enemy bombers quickly and with deadly force firing it's 24 Fohn rockets mounted in the nose of the craft. After which pilot along with engine would bail out for later reuse. There was one major problem though, the Natter was a little too fast. Due to its extreme climb rate pilots would invariably black out. I find it amazing the kind of technological advancements that are developed when desperation is breathing down your neck. Germany at the later end of WWII is a prime example. In fact I believe that the technological and scientific advancements Germany made contributed greatly to the U.S and the U.S.S.Rs to becoming superpowers. The spoils of war.

Super Cub

Here are some images of Monogram's 1/32 scale Piper L-18 Super Cub. The Super Cub was a refined development of the Cub with engines in the 90/150 hp range. First flown in 1949 the type remained in production up to 1981. Plus kit forms of this aircraft are still available to this day.

Cylon Raider

Here are some images of Revell's 1/32 scale Cylon Raider from Battlestar Galactica. This is the original kit. Oh Battlestar Galactica how I do hate thee and thy mediocrity. The Cylons were the good guys right? You know back in the 70s when the pilot was first released they actually had the unmitigated gull to release it in a movie theater. They felt it was that good. Well it wasn't! It was crap! Aaaaand then to add insult to injury they re released it on television a month later. I want my money back! Damn you Lorne Greene! I stab at thee with hells fury! But the ships are cool. The Cylon Raider has a very rakish look to it I think. Although note the tank sprocket wheels on the top of the craft.

Colonial Viper

Here are some images of Revell's 1/32 scale Colonial Viper from Battlestar Galactica. This is the original kit not the revised one just released. Battlestar Galactica in my opinion was well.... well it sucked, and the new series is even worse. Bad acting, bad stories, bad music and bad editing. The new series has such a stink of political correctness as to make one want to vomit. You know a show is bad when one finds oneself rooting for the bad guys. But the ships are cool. The Colonial Viper is one fantastic piece of work as well as the rest of the ships from this series. It's a shame that a ship like this has to be associated with such a bad TV series.

Leopold

Here are some images of Dragon models 1/35 scale Krupp 28 cm K5 railway gun "Leopold". The K5 guns were probably the most successful of the large railway guns which could fire 565lb shells a distance of 40 miles. A total of 28 K5s were constructed between 1936 and 1945. This kit was a beautiful model to build although it is an expensive model to purchase. When I bought this kit in 2003 it was around $140 Cdn, today who knows. I have yet to see it re released. If you do manage to purchase one make some room because it does make an impressive display piece.
