Here are some images of Italeri's Leonardo da Vinci's Paddle Boat based
on his drawings. This kit was originally an educational model designed
to be built quickly... that is until I got a hold of it. With a bit of
paint and some weathering, some wood planking, thread, cleats and a
barrel it makes for quite an acceptable display piece.

Are these kits wood or plastic? 'd been want to build a scale model of a wheeled trebuchet after seeing a desk top model hurl marbles in a PBS documentary.
They're plastic for the most part.
Wow, your custom paint and weather job really makes this model look fantastic.
Out of curiosity, what sort of paints did you use for this? If I could, I'd like to shake some brand name or color names out of you.
The paints I always use are either Testors enamels or Tamiya acrylics.
